The report notes that fiscal year 2019 is down, which is a disappointing result for EA after strong performance between 2014 and 2018.
“While we are disappointed with our fiscal 2019 results, we understand the challenges we face, and we will continue to focus on how we can apply the strengths of our Company to capitalize on our opportunities,” the report states.
Over the period EA have launched two notable successes – FIFA 19 and Apex Legends – but have also struggled to get their newest IP, Anthem, off the ground. Recently Andrew Wilson explained that developer BioWare has struggled to unite Anthem’s players, thanks to the game attempting to cater to both traditional story-focused fans and those expecting a more Destiny-like experience.
Meanwhile, Apex Legends is getting a tenth character and a second season of its battle pass, which should hopefully help EA bounce back for fiscal year 2020.
