Cyberpunk 2077’s

lead quest designer PaweĊ‚ Sasko has hinted that a New Game Plus Mode may be in the works for the highly anticipated game from CD Projekt Red.Via Reddit, user u/CaptainGJB direct messaged Sasko on Twitter and asked him if it would be possible to “have a character with every stat/ability maxed out, or will it be closer to [The Witcher 3] in that there’s limited upgrade slots?”

Sasko answered that, while they are still working on character progression and it may change in time, “most likely it won’t be possible to max out everything on 1 playthrough, as it would have little sens to have a game that is about replayability and choices, while in the same time allow the players to max out all the stats on the first run :)”

While Sasko didn’t outright say it, this very much indicates that the team appears to be planning on having Cyberpunk 2077 become a game that encourages multiple playthroughs with certain stats and skills carrying over between them.

The Witcher 3 did not have a New Game Plus mode at launch, but it was added to the game and enabled experience, items, money, and alchemy recipes carry over to a brand new playthrough.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. For more on our Best Game of E3 2019, be sure to check out our thoughts after seeing 50 minutes of new gameplay.
