Microsoft is planning to expand Xbox Live from Xbox One onto Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. The plans were teased in a GDC session description, so we should learn more about them during the conference, which runs from March 18-22.

In general, cross-play has been a big sticking point in the gaming community over the past several months, and while we don’t know what this will entail, the expansion is not surprising. It’s a mystery as to how Xbox Live services will be implemented on other consoles and devices, but Microsoft wants to make the service’s profiles, friends lists, achievements, clubs, and more available there.
