Be humble, don’t fumble, and come out on top in the Puppy Bowl rumble!
Bumble, a 20-week old Aussie Shepherd playing in her rookie year in the prestigious Puppy Bowl, has been officially named the Puppy Bowl XV MVP. Hailing from Hauser Lake, Idaho, Bumble showed dogged determination in the face of alpha competition as part of the 2019 Starting Line-Up at this year’s Puppy Bowl.
The historic 15th year of Puppy Bowl pitted champion against chomp’ion, as the tail-to-tail prizewinners Team Fluff returned on the hunt for a flea-peat, while the former best-in-show Team Ruff now found itself the underdogs after having been left to lick their wounds for two straight years of rough Ruff losses. Neither canine team had any intention of letting go of the rope in this vicious tug-o-war, and every one of these pups came to play!
Part of a rare breed of special-needs puppies honored in this fifteenth year of Puppy Bowl competition, MVP award winner (Most Valuable Puppy) Bumble overcame great physical handicaps of sight and hearing impairment to teach her fellow dogs some new tricks. While the Ruff defense left assumed she was simply playing dead, Bumble rolled over and kicked two Field Goals in the second half of the game. Not to be left out in the cold, MVP contender and Australian Cattle Dog Emmitt of Team Ruff set the pace for the pack early in the game with a ferocious first half and two touchdowns, while Ruff littermate Sierra the Staffordshire Terrier made the second half a howl by stealing the ball and breaking free of the leash to score a touchdown of her own. Throughout Puppy Bowl XV, these two teams hounded after one another every time the lead traded places, and the fur kept flying until they finally reached the bottom of the Bowl.
Final Score: 59 to 51, and the Team Ruff “Green Growlers” are truly the top dogs as they defeat Team Fluff to take back the Puppy Bowl Lombarki Trophy.
