“Alohomora” to the theater doors…
To mark the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter movie adaptation, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Cinemark theaters will be holding a movie marathon starting Aug. 31 for fans.
The marathon will include all eight films, along with the addition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. They will be shown in 141 theaters across the United States during Cinemark’s Wizarding World XD Week, which runs Aug. 31 to Sept. 6.
Attendees will get to see the films in Cinemark’s XD auditoriums which house 35 trillion colors and custom engineered sound.
Tickets will cost $5 per film or $25 for the Festival Pass which includes tickets to all nine films, a collectible keychain, a commemorative festival badge and a $3.50 specially designed cup that is refillable through Nov. 30 at Cinemark theaters.
Harry Potter marathons have become a popular routine for theaters over the years, with IMAX theaters holding a marathon of all eight films ahead of the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in fall of 2016.
With the official trailer of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald recently being released, we have answers on much of the backstory from the Harry Potter films, including what Dumbledore sees when he looks into the Mirror of Erised, how Credence fits into the Lestrange family history, and a look at the quirky character that is Nicholas Flamel from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
