The first issue comes out in September.
A new comic book series from Dynamite Entertainment will explore James Bond’s teenage years before he became a deadly double-O agent.
THR reports the series, titled James Bond Origin, follows the titular character and his adventures during World War II. The story begins in March 1941, with Bond’s visit to a friend suddenly interrupted by German attacks on the U.K.
James Bond Origin is written by Jeff Parker (Batman 66, Future Quest), with art by Bob Q (The Green Hornet).
“James doesn’t have the vast experience of a double-O agent yet, but he’s tenacious and a lightning-quick study,” Parker said, discussing the comic’s story. “Bob and I work to show the full force of Bond’s spirit.”
James Bond Origin No. 1 will come out later this year in September.
Meanwhile, Bond 25 will be directed by Danny Boyle with Daniel Craig returning in the title role once again.
